–Careful cost cutting and revenue improvements to solve budget problems

–Protect public safety by maintaining adequate police and fire protection

• LOWER PROPERTY TAX BURDENS and INCREASE TAX BASE AS SOON AS  POSSIBLE

• GIVE VOTERS MORE CHOICE

– Let citizens vote on funding levels for transportation and certain other services.

• KEEPING CITIZENS INFORMED with a planned website and an electronic newsletter about city council activities

• SEEK CONSOLIDATION OF PUBLIC SERVICES TO CUT COSTS by merging or  sharing staff, facilities and purchasing with other municipalities

• BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT and HISTORIC PRESERVATION

– Build the tax base and attractiveness of the city to businesses and homeowners

• HONESTY, INTEGRITY, PLAIN SPEAKING in public service

Law degree, Wayne State Univ., 1980;  B.S. with double majors in Public Administration and Psychology, EMU, 1977

Attorney for nearly 30 years; 25 years with non-profit UAW Legal Services Plan helping working people, families, and homeowners

Extensive experience in solving complex financial and debt problems and fighting fraudulent and abusive activities; expertise in finance, bankruptcy, foreclosure, estate planning, insurance, construction, mediation, arbitration, union contracts;  Legal work for governmental units, including ordinance enforcement and litigation

Experienced in business management, tutoring, advising small businesses and investors

Co-organizer of the Gerganoff Neighborhood Association; worked with neighbors to improve local problems; co-founder of a real estate investment club
